About the Artist

Comine Bruwer

I was born and raised in Namibia, where my exposure to art started at an early age through my mother. My love for art grew and eventually became my career. I studied and worked as a Goldsmith and Jeweler for 15 years. Thereafter I decided to concentrate on fine arts again. I started painting and sculpting in earnest.
The world around me, my heritage, and also my new experiences, new cultures, and people, I come into contact with, is a great source of inspiration for me.
The purpose of my art, is to try to make people see/reflect on life from a different perspective.
. Art affords me with an opportunity to show my thoughts, feelings, and opinions in an honest and expressive way through shape and form, even though broken or distorted. I want the viewer to appreciate that the process of creating is, for me, just as important as the finished product and that this process creates the uniqueness of the artpiece.
